This article is about the downfalls of Flickr and how a company named PhotoShelter is helping to solve one of the problems people have with their pictures being used of flickr and photographers not granting permission or receiving credit. I think its great that Photoshelter is offering an option for flcikr users to have their photos protected.
The people worked hard to take and post these pictures and deserve credit where credit is due. This article points out how user generated content can have some negatives. People want their pictures out there, but they also want them protected and credited. I think its great that hey internet offers an option for people who just enjoy taking pictures to share them with others and this option offers people a way to control what everyone has access to. Its good for flickr that photoshelter is doing this because flcikr users might stop using flcikr if they felt their photos weren’t protected like they wanted them to be.
